TRNSSTR are Smokin Jo and Pete Gleadhall… Smokin Jo has played in pretty much every major club in the world, spinning her unique fusion of house and minimal, with fizzing slices of modern techno that are a true reflection of what is right about our music scene today – from the dark and dirty dancefloors of Panorama Bar, Berlin, to her residency at ‘We Love…’ Space, Ibiza for over 7 years and not forgetting Fabric, London, Cocoon, Germany and Womb, Tokyo to name a few.

Pete has been producing under various monikers since the early 90’s and now produces and releases music from his ‘Hoedown City’ studio, where his skills have seen him work with the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Clive Henry (Circoloco/Peace Division) and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo). Pete brings his production skills and live elements into the mix and makes up this perfect partnership which with their last release on Viva ‘As You Like It” has been raking in support from the likes of Luciano, Anja Schneider and Freerange boss Jimpster.

Their live show consists of Pete on keyboards, Jo on vocals and both on their macs and effects. Their stomach churning basslines, rubbery sounds, techy beats and noodly effects provide the perfect soundtrack.

They are joined onstage by Olu, an African poet who gently chants verse over the pulsating beats. Also VJ genius David Terranova, created some stark, timeless visuals to compliment the music in perfect synchronicity.
